Uttarakhand NEET Counselling 2018

Uttarakhand NEET counselling 2018 is coming up as the entire country is buzzing with the anticipatory feelings about the upcoming counselling of the academic year of 2018-19. The charge is lingering in the air, spreading its thick vines all around and engulfing the youth in a state of frenzied trance and worry. After all, we are discussing the only medical entrance examination on the national basis. NEET will be conducting the next entrance examination on 5th May 2018 and we can vouch for the fact that all the students who are waiting for the exam date are more concerned about the aftermath. Consequences are of greater importance than the actions and certainly, the proverb is apt for the scenario, which is clearly delineated on the face of each and every NEET candidate.

Now, what about NEET counselling 2018? We are aware of the fact that once the exams will be conducted, the Directorate General of Health Services will start arranging for the counselling process in different zones of the country. The counselling process will commence once the results will be out. The NEET results will decide who will be eligible for appearing for the counselling and that will be done based on the merit list.

What is NEET merit list?
Each year, after the exam is conducted, the council declare a merit list, which contains the name of the students according to the marks they have obtained in the exam. Now, their marks will decide their national rank that is, after how many students they will get the opportunity. This merit rank is necessary at the time of getting a seat in the college since the counselling system will compare the student’s rank with the college preference list and then generate the college name.

Types of NEET counselling
NEET counselling is conducted in two phases, the two of which completes the entire counselling process. The norms of the council have divided the entire counselling procedure into two parts:

  1. All India Quota that takes up 15% of the entire candidate application
  2. State quota that consists of 85% admits students from the concerned state only.

The state quota counselling is arranged after the counselling of the AIQ is completed. The Directorate General sends the merit list of the remaining candidates to the respective states. After receiving the list, each organizing body of a state arranges for the state counselling process.
