The Medical council board of India has decided to conduct the exams on 5thy May 2018 along with the Central Board of Secondary Education. Students who are eager to get an entry either in the medical department or the dental science can look up to this upcoming NEET exam. This will definitely give them an opportunity in building up their future in the field of medicals. India is a land which is known in the global level for the number of talented doctors who complete their medical graduation every year. As MBBS is the preliminary step each doctor needs to take, you can expect that the NEET examination is going to be a tad difficult so that the council can assess the capability of each and every candidate.

What is NEET?
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is the common entrance exam for the Medical course and dental sciences. Each year since 2016, this examination is deciding the number of students getting a chance in the medical field, the number of seats in each participating institutions, which candidate deserves which college and so on.

Every decision regarding the examination is taken by the Medical Council of India in collaboration with the CBSE board. The rules are so set that only the deserving are given a chance to pursue their dream of being a talented and knowledgeable doctor.

How does the admission to NEET take places?
After the NEET exams are conducted the students will get their results after a month or so. The results are declared in the form of rank or merit list where each candidate is given an individual rank according to the scores obtained in the exam.

After the results, the counselling process will commence. According to the rules, the admission will take place according to two quotas:
1.    All India Quota under which 15% of the total number of students in the merit list will be selected for admission. In this, they will have the option to choose any college from all over the country.
2.    The next quota is the state quota. 85% of the total number of examinees will fall under this category and they will have the option of choosing colleges within the state itself.

Almost all the states participate in NEET counselling through the state quota since it gives more chance to the residents of the concerned state than the AIQ. Normally, each state arranges their counselling usually after the AIQ is conducted. In this article, we will discuss the Uttar Pradesh NEET counselling 2018 which will probably take place in the first week of June.
