Joint Admission Counselling Delhi 2020 is conducted for the students to help get through the admission procedure of four premier universities in Delhi. They include DTU, IIT-D, IGDTUW, and NSUT in engineering and architecture programs. Like every year this year in 2020, JAC Delhi will be held to complete the admission procedure. The application form is to be filled to appear for the procedure and this year it is expected to be released in the last week of May. Students should note that there are no entrance examinations held for JAC Delhi 2020 and​ the admissions are based purely on the marks obtained. The marks that are considered are from JEE Main Paper 1 scores for B.Tech courses and Paper 2 for B.Arch courses. A merit list is then prepared by the authorities. It is based on the scores obtained by the candidates in several qualifying examinations.

JAC admission procedure 2020:

There are a few things that are to be known for the admission procedure of JAC Delhi​ for​ B.Tech courses in NSUT, IGDTUW, and DTU and B.Arch courses in IGDTUW.





Admission in B.Tech courses in NSUT,


Based on obtaining a rank in JEE Main 2020 Paper 1.

Admission in B.Arch Course in IGDTUW

On the basis of rank obtained in JEE Main

Based on the percentile score gained in JEE Main 2020 Paper 1 and bonus points for the achievements made in Olympiads, National Talent Search, Sports, etc.

Qualifying Examinations:

Below examinations are to be passed by a candidate for JAC admission counselling​    and​ they are to be cleared in either of the below-mentioned boards:


  • Senior School Certificate Examination (12-year course) of the Central Board of Secondary Education, (CBSE) New Delhi.
  • Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE) 12-year course for the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
  • Any other examination that is identified and considered equivalent to the Senior School Certificate Examination of the CBSE.


It is necessary for the candidates to know that the ones who have appeared in the Annual Examination of 2020 are the candidates of the compartment category. Such candidates are not eligible for admission. 


Marks required for eligibility of JAC Examination:


A candidate must secure required marks to opt for Joint Admission Counselling 2020​  and​ the minimum marks requirement in several examinations are listed below:


B.Tech course at NSIT, IGDTUW, and DTU:-


  • Secure 60% or more in the average marks of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
  • Must have passed in English subject at the Senior School Certificate Examination Level.
  • JEE Main Rank (Paper 1) shall be eligible to get admission for the first semester of B.Tech course, Securing passing marks in each subject is mandatory.


B.Tech Course at IIIT-D:-


  • Securing 80% or more is important in the average marks of the best five subjects including Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. 
  • 80% or more in Mathematics subjects in qualifying examinations and it is important to secure JEE Main Rank (Paper 1) is eligible. 


B. Arch course at IGDTUW:-


●    No candidate is allowed to get admission in B.Arch course unless the candidate has cleared an entrance examination at the end of 10+2 scheme of examination with at least aggregate marks of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. It is also required to secure at least 50% aggregate in the 10+2 examination or has appeared for the 10+3 Diploma Examination with Maths as a compulsory subject. Along with it, the candidate must also have secured 50% marks in aggregate and JEE Main examination (Paper-II).


There is no minimum and maximum age criteria for a candidate to appear for JAC​         admission 2020. 


Online Registration Procedure:


The candidates who desire to seek admission to the engineering/architecture programs at

DTU, IGDTUW, IIIT-D and NSUT can visit the official website for registration under the Joint

Counselling Registration 2020. Visit ​ to pay a registration fee of

Rs.1500 and this amount includes counselling fees as well. The amount paid is non-refundable and additional transaction charges are added to the mentioned amount as applicable. 


Following details are necessary to initiate the online admission procedure and successfully complete the submission of online application. 


  • Application Number of JEE Main.
  • Name as what is mentioned in JEE Admit Card.


Online JAC 2020 Application Form Filling procedure: Payment is successfully​ made first for online registration. Then, they should visit the website once again to fill in the registration form for JAC Delhi Registration 2020​. Filling in the registration form is also compulsory after completing the payment. If the form is not filled then the registration of the candidate is not considered by the authorities.


Filling of choices for JAC Delhi 2020 and Locking:


Filling of Choices:


  • The candidates who have paid their counselling fee and have registered themselves for Delhi Engineering Counselling should exercise one’s preferred choice of University/College to book their seats in their choice of college.
  • After entering the marks secured by a candidate the eligibility is checked. A list of choices is displayed according to the eligibility of a candidate in a particular University/Institute. 
  • The candidate can choose any number of colleges as per their preferred choices they want to fill from the list available. 
  • It is required that a candidate goes through the fee structure of a particular college or institute. This is done so that informed choice is made. This way the candidate also knows the branches of a particular institute or college. 
  • The maximum number of choices can successfully be selected by a candidate and they can fill preferred choices up to that. 


The female candidates that are eligible for admissions in B.Architecture Program at IGDTUW should select B.Arch as one of the choices. 


Choice Locking and Printing of Locked Choices:


  • The choices called by the candidates have locked automatically for the particular round of counselling after the registration lines are closed. Moreover, the candidate can change their choices as per the counselling schedule. 
  • A print out is to be taken out for the filled choice copy to keep a note of the filled choices. 


JAC Delhi 2020 Result Declaration and Admission:


After the procedure of filling of choices is completed by the candidate, cutoff marks are determined by several institutes and the result of seat allotment is updated every year on the JAC Delhi website. JAC Application form is required to be duly filled and the admit card of the candidate is prepared. They can download the provisional Admission letter by successfully by logging into their account after their admit card is published on the official website. The printout of the provisional admit card is needed at the time of reporting for the admission in the institutes. 

When the provisional admission letter is issued by the institute, the candidates are required to visit the particular university/institute for completing manual admission formalities. Depending on the availability of seats the counselling procedures are carried out in several rounds.


Documents required for JAC Delhi 2020 Counselling:


Following documents are required to be carried by the candidates while reporting for the admission procedure:


  • Payment receipt of the admission fee.
  • 2 passport size colour photographs.
  • Printout of the admit card and result of JEE Main.
  • The registration form that is created online and duly signed by the candidate and the parents or guardian. 
  • Printout of the preferred choices filled.
  • Seat allotment letter that was provided provisionally.
