However, SMVDU, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, J & K Campus is 14 Kms short of the holy town of Katra and about 40 Kms from Jammu. Further, it has a good connection with the Road, Rail & Air.

Further, realizing that the IIT system of teaching & evaluation has stood the test of time and is universally acknowledged as a very successful model. SMVDU very consciously follow the IIT system of Teaching & Evaluation for engineering and others.

Campus Facilities:

In addition, the public transport facilities are available in the form of min-bus which plies on the Domel-Katra route. All buses stop in front of the university gate and are available every hour.

However, the University also has its own bus facility for students from Campus to Domel and back on specific times during the weekdays and the weekends for the convenience of the students.

Moreover, a special bus facility from Campus to Jammu and back is available on every Saturday for the convenience of Faculty & Staff members and their families.

Catering Facility

However, the catering services for the students, faculty, and staff is from outside.

Further, contractors provide this service in the boy’s and girl’s hostels thereby reducing the management related issues for the university.

However, more establishments are to become operational in the near future. Further, each hostel has its own Mess facility and this is looking after by a committee consisting of the Hostel Warden, Hostel Caretaker & nominated students from the hostel.
