Located in the capital of India, New Delhi, Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia, is one the oldest institutions providing the education of law to the students since 1989. It is accredited from UGC, NAAC, BCI and AIU. The faculty has made continuous changes in the syllabus and courses for the purpose to made the legal education system progressive in order to cater the needs of the students of changing times with fast speed. By introducing new courses and experimenting in the new methodology with innovative techniques of imparting legal education and strengthening its clinical programme in order to give due emphasis to the expanding horizons of the legal profession.

Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia is hub of students from across India and foreign countries. An example of true India i.e. Unity is diversity is the key element of the College. The students are indulged in the Legal Services Clinic with the whole range of Legal Aid Programme. The students of the faculty are provided with education which enhances their personality development in terms of curricular and co-curricular abilities. From time to time the Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia arranges Seminars and conferences in order to bring up the awareness in students in order to provide them an extra edge to their thinking abilities. These seminars and conference are attended by the intellectuals of the country and abroad.

The students are given an opportunity of getting associated with the lawyers, law firms, advocates, corporate and NGO’s during the summer and winter vacation, which help them to understand the atmosphere of the legal system in the country and provides them with the prospects and their abilities in exploring and finding out their way handling situation.

Course offered by Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia:-

Undergraduate courses:-

B.A.LL.B (Hons.)/ B.A.LL.B (Hons.) Self financed :- Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia, offers 5 years full time course to the students which is a dual integrated course. The total seats available for the program is 120 in which 60 seats are self financed. The course includes 10 semesters. Postgraduate Courses:-

Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia offers 2 years LLM programme having 4 semesters in 3 different branches i.e. Corporate Law, Criminal Law, Personal Law each having 10 seats. The total number of seats for L.L.M. program is 30.

L.L.M. (Executive) Self Financed, Weekend Programme. The Two Year LL.M (Executive) programme offers graduates in law an opportunity

to expand their knowledge of Comparative law and legal processes. There are 4 semesters.The programme is especially designed to cater to the needs of practicing lawyers and law graduates who are interested in expanding the horizons of their knowledge of Constitutional Law, Family Laws, Criminal Law, Human Rights, Cyber Laws etc. The number of seats is limited to 30. Apart from this Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia also offers 1 year full time Diploma courses i.e. Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Law & Post Graduate Diploma in Air Space Law. There are 30 seats for each of program.

 

Admission and Eligibility Criteria for Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia:-

For Undergraduate Program (B.A. LL.B.):-

 An applicant seeking admission to the B.A., LL.B. (Honours) Degree Course shall have successfully completed Pre-University Course or Senior Secondary School Course (‘+2’) scheme or its equivalent in any discipline securing in the aggregate not less than 50% of the

total marks in all the core subjects and English Language put together.

 

For Post Graduate Program (LLM)

Candidates seeking admission to LL.M. Degree under semester scheme should have passed the LL.B. degree from any University recognised by the Bar Council having secured not less than 50% marks in the aggregate or equivalent grade points.

 

For Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Law or Air and Space Law:

Must have passed the bachelor’s degree examination in any faculty either of Jamia Millia Islamia or of other University whose examination is recognized as equivalent to the corresponding examination of Jamia Millia Islamia with a minimum of 50% passing.

Note for Admission Tests conducted by Faculty of  Law, Jamia Millia Islamia The exam cities for the admission test which is an offline pen paper based are Delhi, Patna, Lucknow, Kolkata, Calicut, Srinagar, Guwahati.
