Government Medical College, Haldwani is formerly known as Uttarakhand Forest Hospital Trust Medical College and Medical College in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, India. GMC Haldwani was established in 1997. Government Medical College Haldwani is affiliated with Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University, Dehradun. The GMC Haldawani foundation of the Medical College was laid on 19 March 1997 by Shri Romesh Bhandari, the then Governor of Uttar Pradesh. The College started in May 2004 its first intake of 100 MBBS students.
Uttarakhand Forest Hospital Trust had been included all of the five Institutions Operational under the Trust had been taken over by the Department of Medical Education Government of Uttarakhand. Then the College name is Government Medical College, Haldwani from 2010.

The main campus covers an area of 90 acres (0.364 km2) and is situated at Rampur Road, Haldwani.The inside of the campus is neat and clean with wide roads, lawns, residential complexes, sports complexes besides the administrative and teaching blocks. A 1000 person capacity auditorium is currently under construction.
There are separate hostels for each Year (boys and girls) with a capacity of 150 students each.

- Susheela Tiwari Memorial Hospital and SRM Cancer Hospital & Research Center – to educate its Medical Students and for continuously upgrading the health standards of the State of Uttarakhand. Dr. Susheela Tiwari Memorial Hospital became functional on 28 July 1996. The hospital is continuously being expanded and upgraded to keep pace with both the ever-increasing dependence of the local and regional populace on its services as well as to keep in tandem with the advancements in the medical field. Currently it has a capacity of 600 beds.
- Swami Rama Cancer Hospital and Research Center is functional under Government Medical College, Haldwani. It was envisioned and initiated as a State of Art Cancer Center and was formally inaugurated on 22 February 2010. There are plans to upgrade this center to the status of the Uttarakhand State Cancer Institute.

UTTARAKHAND NEET COUNSELLING 2020
ABOUT UTTARAKHAND NEET COUNSELLING 2020: The State government has a direct functioning body named as H.N.B. Uttarakhand Medical Education University responsible for conducting NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) for the admission in undergraduate, post graduate and super speciality courses in India. The online counselling and allotment of seats is conducted by the counselling board with the help of NIC (National Informatics Centre).
Counselling Process for UK NEET 2020: The counselling process includes many rounds generally two rounds are held. If the seats would not got filled even after the two rounds of counselling a mop up round is called off to fill vacant seat in the particular medical college. The process of counselling rounds have some common steps to follow mentioned below:
Step 1: Registration- Applicant willing to appear in counselling rounds of the admission process must fill a registration form on the official website i.e. www.hnbumu.ac.in . The applicants have to pay Rs. 2000 as the registration fee in order to appear for the first round of counselling. The candidate once appears for the first round of counselling would not be eligible for the second round of counselling.
Step 2: Choice Locking/Filling- Once the registration fee is paid the applicant have an option to choose the college he want to take admission in, the option will be categorically in the manner of their preference. Step 3: Deposition of Security Money- After locking up the college as their preference the applicant have to pay the security money via Debit or Credit card only. The Security deposit is different for medical college:
